Alabama Basketball Player Aden Holloway Arrested on Drug Charges
Aden Holloway, a junior and key player for the Alabama men’s basketball team, was arrested early Monday morning in Tuscaloosa, according to local police. Officers from the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence on 30th Avenue East, leading to the recovery of over a pound of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and cash. Holloway, 21, faces charges of first-degree possession of marijuana and failure to affix a tax stamp.
Following his arrest, he was taken to the Tuscaloosa County jail, where his bond was set at $5,000. This incident follows a previous traffic stop involving Holloway by the University of Alabama police just last week. Despite the legal troubles, Holloway remains an integral part of the Alabama basketball team, contributing significantly with an average of 16.8 points per game, which ranks him second on the team.
The Alabama Crimson Tide are set to play Hofstra in a first-round NCAA tournament game this Friday in Tampa. As of now, the University of Alabama has not commented on the situation or Holloway’s arrest. The basketball community will be watching closely as Holloway navigates these serious legal issues while preparing for the upcoming tournament.
