Tuscaloosa’s Tinsel Trail Ranked No. 4 in Nation by USA Today
Tuscaloosa’s Tinsel Trail Shines Bright as a Top Holiday Display
Tuscaloosa is basking in the glow of national recognition as the downtown Tinsel Trail was voted the No. 4 best public light display in America by USA Today readers. The annual public vote sought to identify the top ten holiday light displays across the country, with the Tinsel Trail securing a place in the coveted Top Five.
The Tinsel Trail invites visitors to stroll through a captivating array of over 200 beautifully illuminated and decorated Christmas trees, making it a perfect outing for families and loved ones this holiday season. Highlights of the event include opportunities for photos with Santa Claus, a special night dedicated to pets, and a one-day holiday market.
Each tree on the trail is sponsored by local businesses, nonprofits, families, or individuals, supporting Tuscaloosa’s One Place, a community resource center. The Tinsel Trail is a key feature of Holidays on the Plaza, which also offers an ice-skating rink and other festive activities.
Officially opened with a lighting ceremony last month, the Tinsel Trail will be on display throughout the holiday season. While ice-skating requires a fee, the delightful experience of wandering among the decorated trees is free, making it an accessible and enjoyable evening for everyone.
Congratulations to the City of Tuscaloosa and all who contributed to this well-deserved honor, showcasing the community’s festive spirit. For ongoing local news and events, engage with the Tuscaloosa Thread.
